The USA Geddy Lee Jazz Bass® (Fender)

Geddy Lee is a bassist of Rush who contributed to the Fender Artist Series so-called Fender Signature Series (my other posts about this series: Fender Signature) twice. For the first time it was the Geddy Lee Jazz Bass® and now the USA Geddy Lee Jazz Bass®. I'm not going to write about any of these instruments in detail as you can easily find it in provided links. In the following video about his USA signature bass, Geddy Lee said: "the signature is very close to my number one". I had an impression that between the lines he pointed out very important thing. No matter how much effort you will invest, it won't be his "number one". For me, this makes Signature series not interesting. Every guitar is different and there is no point in copying someone's style. However, I enjoy stories given by artists for the Fender Artist Series and Geddy Lee's story is one of my favourites.

The Flea Jazz Bass® (Fender)

When someone is at the very beginning of the instrument playing adventure the first step is often to search for a proper instrument. To accomplish that many people are trying to find the same instrument as their heroes were playing. Some of the people even need to get exactly the same instrument in sense of it's look. I'm not sure if this will make anyone a better musician or give him a power of his hero but the Fender Artist Series is getting more and more popular. Another artist that recently got into this series with his Shell Pink ’61 Jazz Bass is Flea (Red Hot Chilli Peppers). The Flea Jazz Bass® is now available if you need one. However, if you don't need it you can still enjoy this crazy Flea style introduction.

Parsons Guitars (Randy Parsons)

My previous post, Who says you need to buy a guitar (Jack White) , was inspired by the first scene from the documentary film "It Might Get Loud". Again there will be something related to this film. This time I wanted to share a video about Randy Parsons, the luthier also featured in the documentary "It Might Get Loud" (he is building there a guitar in collaboration with Jack White). Following video shows his interesting story.

Who says you need to buy a guitar (Jack White)

This time I have a short video which is in fact the first scene from the documentary film "It Might Get Loud". I think every guitar player or music fan know this film but just in case you never seen it, you can watch it on the vimeo. It is a journey through techniques of Jimmy Page, The Edge, and Jack White. This names speak for themselves. But going back to the very first scene, it is about building something like lap steel guitar by Jack White. He used some crap and showed that you don't need much to play music. At least you don't need expensive instrument. You can even use video below as a DIY tutorial on how to build the simplest lap steel guitar. Many people followed it and you can find their attempts on the YouTube playlist. There is also the Instructables post.

How I set up my bass (Billy Sheehan)

Since I remember I was never happy with effects of the work that I let someone to do for me. Probably it is not always poor quality but maybe just a different taste or different view. Nevertheless, this quickly leads my to learn many things and do it by myself. And hey... this is what moonlighter.ml is all about! I'm happy that some Big Guys had the same problems. Check out this video to see why even Billy Sheehan learned how to set up his bass guitar.
